How I Overcame My Fear of the Covid-19 Vaccine and Became an Advocate for It – Abdallah Mutiatu From Kakpagyili Community

I used to be one of those people who were afraid of the vaccine. I had seen and heard so many negative things about it on social media and from other people. They said that the vaccine was not effective, that it had serious side effects, and that it was part of a conspiracy. I did not want to risk my health or my freedom by getting vaccinated. But then I realized that I might need to travel someday, and that the vaccine could be a requirement for that. I also learned more about the vaccine from reliable sources, such as health experts and scientific studies. I found out that the vaccine was safe, effective, and beneficial for myself and others. I decided to give it a try and see for myself.

I was nervous when I went for my first jab, but it was not as bad as I thought. It was just a quick prick on my arm, and I did not feel any pain or discomfort afterwards. I waited for 15 minutes to make sure I was okay, and then I went home. I did not experience any side effects, not even a fever or a headache.
I felt relieved and proud of myself for taking the first step. I went back for my second jab after a few weeks, and it was the same as the first one. No problems, no regrets. I completed my vaccination and got my Covid-19 Card.

Now I feel more confident and protected against the virus. I also feel more responsible and caring for my community. I want to help others overcome their fear and misinformation about the vaccine. I want to share my story and encourage them to get vaccinated too. The vaccine is not something to be afraid of, but something to be grateful for. It is our best chance to end this pandemic and return to normal life
