New Regional Executives Elected for Northern Region Branch of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health (GCNH)

The Northern Region branch of the Ghana Coalition of NGOs in Health (GCNH) has elected new regional executives for its branch at its third Quarterly General Meeting held on September 27, 2023. The meeting, which took place at the RUWA-GHANA Conference Hall in Tamale, also reviewed the performance of the regional branch in the year 2023.

The regional chairman, Masud Aziz Rauf, who was re-elected for another term, praised the coalition for its successful implementation of the project “Community Sensitization on Covid-19 Vaccine Uptake and Infodemics Management” under the C19RM of the HV/TB Community Systems Strengthening program. He said the project started with 47 Implementing Partners (IPs) across the nation, adding that 20 IPs including two from the northern region have been selected for extension of the project.

Mr. Rauf also explained the importance of the election, which was mandated by the constitution of the coalition to be held in the third quarter of every three years. He expressed his concern about the lack of interest and competitiveness across the nation and applauded the northern region for being one of the few regions able to submit nominees within the stipulated deadline by the national headquarters.
